RECENT COACHING HISTORY

In 2022, Kevin Forrest became the Head Coach of the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks. In his first season, he brought an unlikely team to an underdog playoff berth.

PREVIOUS COACHING EXPERIENCE

In 2021, Kevin served as the interim Head Coach of the Brock University Badgers Men’s Hockey team. He worked alongside Assistant Coach and CHE President Jerome Dupont to reach the U Sports playoffs. The team surpassed all expectations, making it to the national championship, finishing among the top 8 in the country.

Prior to joining Brock, Kevin spent 4 seasons in the Ontario Junior Hockey League where he won a league championship (Buckland Cup) and back to back Central Canada Region, Dudley Hewitt Cup championships as an Assistant Coach with the Trenton Golden Hawks.

Kevin’s coaching career began at the minor hockey level with the GTHL’s Don Mills Flyers where he spent four seasons split between the Bantam and Midget AAA teams assisting in the development of several future Major Junior and College players, some of whom went on to play at various professional levels around the world including a few at the NHL level.

“I was fortunate to start working with Jerome 10 years ago both in-season and off-season and have always been impressed with the passion he brings to player development. With CHE, he’s created a good balance of fun and competitiveness that has a proven track record of preparing players for the next level of their playing journey. As a coach I prefer my hockey seasons to go as long as possible but whether it’s a short or deep playoff run, I always look forward to the CHE spring/summer programs to work with, and help players get better”.
