Tournament Structure

The Toronto Hockey Showcase is a 8 team tournament that takes place over three days. Each team will play 3 games in the round robin stage, after which teams are seeded moving on to the playoff. The playoff is three rounds, with the champion and finalist playing in a total of 6 games by the end of the weekend. Ties will be broken by the head-to-head result.

On-Ice Rules

  • Games will have two 25-minute stop time periods with a flood in between.

  • 5-on-5 contact hockey.

  • Full face shields and neck guards are mandatory.

  • All games are refereed by professionals with zero tolerance for dirty play.

  • Major penalties will result in ejection from the game and possible suspension from the tournament.

  • If two teams have the same colour jersey, the AWAY team will wear pinnies provided by the tournament.

Hurry Up Hockey

  • Referees will make quick faceoffs.

  • Only obvious icing and offsides will be called.

  • Pucks that go into the mesh are considered live pucks in the round robin. If pucks bounce off the mesh and result in an immediate goal without a pass the call will be no goal.
