Tournament Rules
Tournament Structure
The Toronto Hockey Showcase is a 8 team tournament that takes place over three days. Each team will play 3 games in the round robin stage, after which teams are seeded moving on to the playoff. The playoff is three rounds, with the champion and finalist playing in a total of 6 games by the end of the weekend. Ties will be broken by the head-to-head result.
On-Ice Rules
Games will have two 25-minute stop time periods with a flood in between.
5-on-5 contact hockey.
Full face shields and neck guards are mandatory.
All games are refereed by professionals with zero tolerance for dirty play.
Major penalties will result in ejection from the game and possible suspension from the tournament.
If two teams have the same colour jersey, the AWAY team will wear pinnies provided by the tournament.
Hurry Up Hockey
Referees will make quick faceoffs.
Only obvious icing and offsides will be called.
Pucks that go into the mesh are considered live pucks in the round robin. If pucks bounce off the mesh and result in an immediate goal without a pass the call will be no goal.
